The Tavern has opened a new location in downtown New Albany. This Louisville-based restaurant crossed the river to serve up burgers, sandwiches, and more. The Vintage Fire Museum in downtown Jeffersonville, dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of firefighting, has expanded! A new building, adjacent to the main museum, was designed to look like a classic firehouse. Inside, visitors can see historic fire engines, including a 1948 Buffalo quad from the Dauenhauer collection. The new space also features unique items like an authentic suit worn by Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible,” adding a fun splash of pop culture to the experience.
Derby Dinner Playhouse 2026-27 Season
Derby Dinner’s new season kicks off on May 20 with Calendar Girls, a warm, funny story of friendship and bravery. This comedy follows a group of women who create a bold calendar for a fundraiser after a loss, turning their small-town idea into a national sensation. Other shows include Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Heartbreak Hotel, Misery, A Christmas Story the Musical, The Cottage, Little Shop of Horrors, and 9 to 5 the Musical.
Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center Rotating Exhibitions
Curated by Al Gorman, G.W. Morrison, Artist: To a Finer Effect runs March 10 – Aug 1, 2026, in the Sally Newkirk Gallery, featuring works by New Albany artist George W. Morrison. Morrison was a 19th-century artist from New Albany, Indiana. The exhibit features both familiar works from the Center’s Special Collections as well as new pieces generously loaned from sister organizations and private collectors. Visit to explore Morrison's work and be on the lookout for the upcoming book on Morrison's life, written by the exhibit's curator.
